Texas Disability Qualification Tips

Texas disability qualify factors include the fact that you will have to provide all the documentation required to prove your disability claim is accurate and correct.  If you have all of the documentation you need in advance, it will shorten the time it takes to process your initial claim for disability.  Make sure you have laboratory testing and results; medical documentation from all the doctor’s you have seen; documents pertaining to the type of medications you are prescribed for your condition, contact details for your doctors, your Social Security number, your birth certificate, a copy of your last tax return if you were self-employed, a copy of your W-2, your marriage certificate, and Social Security numbers for any and all of your dependents.

The documents that you present to the Social Security administration cannot be copies; they must be originals or certified copies only.  You will have to mail all documentation into the Social Security Office.  Once you send the certified copies or original documents to the Social Security Administration, they will copy the documents and return all originals and certified copies to you via the mail.

You will want to apply for benefits as soon as possible, even if you do not have all of the documentation you require; this will help in preventing any delay in the examination of your case.

When it comes time for you to apply for disability benefits, you will need to submit RF SSA 3368, a form that you have to fill out with information about your work history and the nature of your disability.  You can do this in person or online: whatever is most convenient for you.  If you opt for online options, there is assistance with filling out the form offered on the Social Security Administration’s website.
